Jess + Tim | California Wedding Photography

Even though I had just met Jess and Tim the night that I flew in to California to capture their wedding weekend I felt like I was amongst longtime friends the entire time I was there. They are two of the sweetest, most genuine people I have met and their families and friends were all so sweet and immediately welcomed me as part of the wedding party. Jeni + Joe | Norwalk, Connecticut Calf Pasture Beach Wedding

I met Jeni and Joe through a fellow photographer and friend, Lexi of Lexi Photography. Lexi wanted to photograph Jeni and Joe’s wedding but since she was also a bridesmaid in the wedding she also wanted to be able to relax and enjoy her best friend’s big day. So Lexi and Jeni asked me to help! When I heard all the details about Jeni and Joe’s wedding plans I was thrilled to be on board with them! They were exactly as Lexi had described them to me - so fun, super laid back and total naturals in front of the camera, as you will see! By the end of the night the whole gang had me feeling like one of them. I had so much fun with Lexi, Jeni and Joe and their families and friends, it was really an amazing weekend!

The ceremony was planned to take place right on the beach down the street from Jeni’s place however, the night before the wedding there were warnings of a huge storm that would hit the next morning, the morning of the wedding! So Jeni and her friends cleared out their apartment and set up all these cute decorations, in case they would have to use it as plan B.Anticipating their first look! I just LOVE first looks. They make for some genuinely adorable shots of that first wedding day interaction between the bride and groom. They also allow us more play time for fun photos before the wedding. How can you not love that?!As you may be wondering, no we did not have to use plan B – the weather turned out to be amazing for the ceremony! We could not have asked for a better day.After the beautiful and intimate ceremony was over they held a cocktail hour right on the beach.After the cocktail hour was over we convinced Jeni and Joe to give us 10 more minutes so that we could take advantage of the beautiful light you get right before sunset. So worth it!

Hi there! Thanks for taking some time to check out my latest blog post! I hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday weekend! I sure did, and now I’m ready to get back to work!

Meet Jess and Tim! My experience working with these two was quite a unique one in that I booked them 100% over the phone and did not meet them until two nights before their wedding, because Jess was living in California and Tim was in South Carolina, and I of course was in Boston! Kelly, a good friend of mine who is currently living in California {and who was also a bridesmaid in Jess and Tim’s wedding} referred them to me because she knew that we would all get along great and have a ton of fun working together. Kelly was right, after a few phone conversations and emails we really hit it off and Jess and Tim decided to fly me out to California to capture their wedding and engagement images for them! I was so glad that they did because I had so much fun spending the weekend with these two and their absolutely lovely group of friends and families – I did not want to leave when it was all over!

The night I flew into California I chatted with Kelly, Jess and Jess’ mom about the wedding plans a made a timeline for the big day over dinner. The following morning Jess and Tim picked me up from Kelly’s and we were off to do a mini engagement session just one day before their wedding! We had so much fun exploring the little nooks in between all the orange trees and the gardens at Fullerton Arboretum. The arboretum made for the perfect backdrop for their images! Jess and Tim had been living apart as she was finishing up law school and he was stationed in South Carolina with the military so this weekend was the first time they had seen each other in some time. This made their engagement session that much more special because they were both so happy to see each other! They were too cute! I will tell you the rest of the story of their wedding weekend but first here are the shots we got of these two lovebirds during their engagement session! Anne + John | Cambridge Boston Engagement Photographer

Anne, John and I totally lucked out the day that we went to shoot their engagement photos, because it was a beautiful November day after some bitter cold pre-winter weather just a few days before. We started our afternoon by popping into a cute little garden in Cambridge and then we walked along the Charles River where I took the rest of their engagement photos. After spending the afternoon with these two I feel super lucky and excited to be their photographer for their May wedding! I can’t wait, you two!

I absolutely love that Anne chose this cute red sweater as part of her second outfit, because it really pops in all the photos!Aren’t these two incredibly adorable?!

Kelly + Nick’s Wedding Album | 10×14 Album with the Fox Downs Cover

Things have been a bit crazy around here with the holidays right around the corner! And when I say crazy I mean that in a good way! I have been super busy filling holiday orders and also doing my own personal Christmas shopping (both fun things, so there are no complaints here!). Today I thought I’d take a break from all the editing I’ve been doing, and share another wedding album with you. This is Kelly + Nick’s wedding album. I thought that they did an awesome job picking out their cover (Fox Downs from my Middle Earth cover collection) because it went really well with the general vibe of they outdoor wedding! Nicole + Dave’s Save the Date Magnets!

I designed these 3″ x 4.5″ magnets using three of Nicole and Dave’s favorite engagement photos and their wedding colors. I think they are so fun! Double the Dress Trashing!

When Farrell and Teresa emailed me asking if I’d be interested in shooting a double Trash the Dress session with both of their hubbies I was totally thrilled! I photographed Farrell and Erik’s wedding and Teresa was one of their bridesmaids, so I was super super excited to work with all of them again. I was even more ecstatic when we began bouncing ideas back and forth for the shoot and I realized that they were just as excited as I was about planning all the little details for their photo session. When your clients are this into planning the session, that’s when you know you are going to get some amazing photos! They even went to local thrift stores and picked up backup outfits, an old chair and some vintage books and some paper lanterns. I can not express how much fun we had doing this shoot. These four were so fun to photograph and they were completely up for getting adventurous and dirty, as you can see! They even braved laying in train tracks in their wedding dresses! The girls wanted to get into the pond but it was a bit too chilly for that (we’re talking hypothermia chilly here!)
