Stephanie & Joe | Rotch-Jones-Duff Garden New Bedford Boston Wedding Photographer

I have known Joe for about 15 years so when he told me he was engaged and that he would love for me be his and Steph’s wedding photographer I was so excited. I met these two in New Bedford, MA at the Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum on a cloudy evening for their engagement shoot. The forecast did say there would be rain so Steph came prepared with a polka-dot umbrella which perfectly matched their outfits. The sky cleared up quickly though and we were able to walk more freely around the beautiful grounds after the first few shots to get the rest of these images. I had such a great time with you two and can not wait for you to get hitched in March!

After this winter it was no secret that we were not expecting a warm spring day but since we were in between seasons I was at least hoping for snow flurries to create a beautiful backdrop on their brisk wedding day and as luck would have it, we got some just in time for their evening portraits, as you will soon see! Steph and Joe both got ready at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in New Bedford and luckily for my assistant and I we had access to a whole separate room from where the girls were getting their hair and makeup done so we had plenty of space to work in to get some lovely detail photos for them before the ceremony. Their ceremony was held at Saint Patricks Church in Somerset where the incredibly sweet and understanding Father Paul Bernier gave us free reign of the altar for photos during the ceremony. This gesture is incredibly helpful especially when the couple faces the altar for the entirety of the ceremony as Steph and Joe did. Without permission we may not have been able to capture those sweet glances and huge smiles the bride and groom shared with each other during the service and our only view would have been from behind all the action. After the ceremony Steph and Joe were to have portraits done at the beach across the street but at that point there was sleet coming down and the wind was rough so we decided to move portraits indoors to the same location where their reception would be held, at the Fall River Cultural Center. The rest of the night was filled with craft beers carefully selected by the groom, a 5 course meal and lots of dancing! Steph and Joe, I can not thank you enough for asking me to photograph your lovely wedding. I am so happy to have witnessed and captured your love on such a special day for you! […]ReplyCancel
